Welcome To Our Website Tuesday 9th December 2008 greeted us with a cold frosty morning to start to put together the 50 market stalls, this had to be the challenge of the year with the treachorous road conditions around the green area, it was more like the ice caps at the Doncaster Dome. A quick phone call at 11am to plead with DMBC the local council asking for help to grit the highway after a couple of our volunteers had done a double axle on the ice! A massive thanks goes out to the volunteers who gave up their time to help erect the stalls ready for the evening market. |

Eric came along with his mobile camper van, and with the help of Moira they thankfully helped to thaw us all out with hot drinks and bacon butties. 12.30pm came the first of the traders to start setting up their stall with over 50 others to follow we were in for a bumper year. Traders come from far afield as Leicester, Hull, Leeds, Lincs, Nottingham as well as local traders. The market gets bigger and better every year. What an atmosphere with around 8000 visitors between 4pm - 9pm. Its great to see so many people from the local communities stood in groups talking to friends, events like these bring everyone together and encourages community spirit, thank you for all your support. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the following volunteers for giving up their time and effort in putting up and taking down the market stalls, without their help the market would certainly not take place: Gil Blacklock, Ian & Leanne Swainston, John Hellewell, Malc Cook, Derek Morris, John Foster, Ian Butterfield, Alan Rushton, Ryan, Luke, Geoff Broome & friends Rob & Rod, Trev, Clive Hepworth, Steve Parkinson, Linda & Eric Clark, Moira Cook & Pete Cockett.
